7 & 8 October
In this two-day workshop, students will learn to make colourful sculptural books using commercial papers. Participants will create two custom-designed book forms: a drum leaf binding and a book-ring binding. Similarly, we’ll explore different ways to add imagery and text to the pages, including tipping-in, stamping, and ink-jet printing. Instruction will include demonstrations and brainstorming sessions. With lots of time to work, students will leave with at least two examples of book forms that defy the traditional notion of a book.
