2026 will see a continuation of our international workshop series.

We are thrilled to announce that our tutor for 2026 is US artist and educator, Erica Spitzer Rasmussen.

Erica creates handmade paper garments and small editions of hand-bound books. She received her BFA and MFA at the University of Minnesota (Minneapolis), which included coursework in Mexico and Greece. Her current work explores family stories and issues of identity.

Rasmussen is a recipient of the 2018 Minnesota Book Artist Award and various grants from the Minnesota State Arts Board (1999, 2015, 2018).

She has had residencies in Salzburg, Venice, Mexico City, and Vienna. Her work has been featured in such magazines as FiberArts, Surface Design Journal, American Craft and Hand Papermaking. Rasmussen has been a studio arts full professor at Metropolitan State University in St. Paul, Minnesota and her artwork is exhibited internationally.

In 2022 Erica was a finalist in Paper off Skin and was awarded the Emerging Inspiration Award.

There will be 2 workshops. One focussing on neckpieces, one on book arts.
